Harvesting Carrots

A couple of weeks ago, she & I woke up early, went out to the garden, and had a blast harvesting these beautiful baby carrots. We steamed some later and she loved eating them. The rest were incorporated into little apple-carrot popsicles....

Slow Down for the Little Ones

Many days I think about the list of the things I want or need to do. And likewise, I want my little one to accommodate my schedule - it's not always easy to persuade her to accommodate MY plans though. LOL.. I know first hand it's easy to want children to move at OUR pace, but when I choose to slow down and remember to move at my daughter's pace, my day is far more rewarding than any other 'productive' day I could have imagined...

LOVE

Her friends are playing in the water table as she looked on... not quite, but almost, ready to join them. After a short time had passed, she became ready and went to the water table where she concentrated on pouring water from a small pitcher, practiced scooping water with a large spoon, and studied water moving freely through a net.

Purple Asparagus & Butternut Squash

Today I steamed purple asparagus and butternut squash for the little ones and they loved it! I added a couple sage leaves from the garden while steaming, and a little cinnamon sugar before serving.

Prickly Cucumbers

This afternoon, I took the little ones out to check on our cucumber plants. They enjoyed touching the cucumbers which are still a little prickly and unripe.
